This year’s Kentucky Derby is sure to still be the fastest two minutes in sports, even with the novel coronavirus impacting its original plans for the traditional running in early May. While the Derby will now take place on September 5 in front of a smaller in-person audience, fans can still recreate the Derby experience thanks to the newly released at-home Derby menu, which will allow fans to get in on the fun at home. According to a press release, Executive Chef David Danielson said he “was inspired to curate a menu of easy-to-make, at-home dishes that are a true reflection of the classics Derby-goers crave, so anyone can partake in the culinary festivities of the day.” The menu features classic Kentucky ingredients, like bourbon, peach and mint, and celebrates seasonal produce. While they don’t list any official drinks, learn how to make their signature Mint Julep (and if you need a proper Julep cup, we like this one from Sur La Table, on sale for $15). Read on to learn how to make the menu for yourself.
