Grocery stores are doing their best to keep their customers and employees safe and healthy during the COVID-19 pandemic. Some have turned into “dark stores,” while others have implemented specific hours for seniors (Check out our tips for grocery shopping safely during this time). One grocer that continues to prioritize the safety of their shoppers and crew members is Trader Joe’s.
Trader Joe’s is staying on top of their stores by temporarily closing locations in areas with a high risk of COVID-19. For the next two weeks, 18 stores throughout New York and Louisiana will be closed for 24 hours to receive precautionary cleaning and sanitation. Check here to see if your store will be affected.

Trader Joe’s is choosing to close these stores because they “believe in being proactive and transparent.” According to a press release, Trader Joe’s will continue to pay all crew members for their scheduled shifts during the closure.
